Beba was a grandmother before a restaurant, and a restaurant before a speaker. When brothers Ari and Pablo Schor opened their 28-seat dining room on a quiet corner of Verdun, they named it for Vera — “Beba” to the family — and built it on the food of their Argentine-Jewish upbringing. No artifice, no fussiness, nothing on the plate that doesn't belong there.

When the brothers came to us, the brief matched the cuisine: a sound system for a small, warm room where Pablo's playlists run from early-evening country and blues through late-night R&B — music that had to be present at every table and precious at none. Our cabinets at the time were built for volume and scale. This room needed the same character, distilled.

Beba is that distillation: our horn-loaded voicing in solid hardwood, compact enough to disappear into an intimate room, honest enough to carry six hours of service without a hint of fatigue. Designed for one dining room and ended up defining a philosophy: quality, thoughtfully executed, never goes out of style.
