Barbara is where Automatic Audio began — the first design, sketched on paper before the company had a name. It came from a frustration: a lifetime love of the great American folded-horn classics, whose midrange and treble move us, yet whose low end always left you wanting. Barbara keeps what those designs got right — a folded horn treated with the care that midrange deserves — and finishes the job with a 15” woofer tuned by triple passive radiators, under a modern compression driver on a Le Cléac'h horn that plays effortlessly down to 1,200 Hz. Five years of refinement with modern design tools and better cabinetry have sharpened the idea without changing it.

The words Barbara’s listeners reach for most is "instrumental separation". A generation raised on two-way speakers has rarely heard the 400–3,000 Hz range handled the way Barbara and its predecessors do — where voices and most instruments actually live — handled by a horn built for that very task. Everything untangles: articulate low end, holographic midrange, smooth and fatigue-free highs. The only compromise Barbara makes is size.
